Have someone read this to you, or read it into a tape recorder and play it back for yourself.
Find a place and time to be alone for half an hour, away from the demands of family, work, telephone. Loosen constricting clothing; unhook your bra (better yet, take it off); remove your shoes, and eyeglasses or contact lenses. Lie comfortably on your back with a pillow under your knees. Close your eyes and breathe out.
Breathe out and relax. Breathe out until you’re empty. Breathe out any thoughts. Breathe out any tension. Breathe slowly and evenly, like you’re swinging or rocking, like you’re flapping large wings or moving in a little boat on calm water. Let go to the easy rhythm of this movement. Let this gentle sighing out and inhaling in hold you. Give in to the sensation of being moved effortlessly by your own breath, by a rhythm and a power much larger than you.
As you breathe and surrender to your own rhythm, bring your attention to your heart. Was there a time when your heart yearned for something? Feel it again, that yearning, wanting, aching, opening, needing. This time your yearning is heard. This time there is an answer to your desire. This time the Wise Healer Within answers you.
You may perceive the Wise Healer Within in any number of guises: female, male, animal, plant, rock, alien, insect, the cosmos. You may just “know” that the Wise Healer Within is present and communicating with you; or you may see or hear something.
Introduce yourself to your Wise Healer Within and offer a small gift, perhaps something you have in your pocket, perhaps your smile, or a hug. You can ask the Wise Healer Within questions: What’s your name? What gift would you like next time I visit? Do I pay enough attention to you? Do you have any complaints or compliments about our relationship? Any comments about how I treat myself?
Ask your Wise Healer Within to take you on a tour of your cervix and the nearby lymph nodes. You’ll need to make yourself small enough to glide through the blood and lymphatic vessels. First go to healthy tissues. Note carefully what you sense, see, hear, or feel. Let your inner healer know that optimal health is what you want for every part of your body and every aspect of your life.
Ask your Wise Healer Within to point out any pre-cancerous or cancerous cells anywhere in your body. Ask your inner healer to keep a sharp lookout for atypical cells and to notify you immediately if any begin to proliferate. How can your Wise Healer Within alert you? Decide together on a way to communicate.
If your Wise Healer Within does show you cancerous or pre-cancerous cells, ask for help in changing them. You can go into those cells and, with the help of your inner healer, make a plan of action. What needs to change? How? Do you need other help? Who or what? What do you need to do to initiate those changes? To sustain the changes? How can you be sure that the abnormal cells have returned to normal? How frequently do you need to monitor those cells?
Ask your Wise Healer Within to take you to the healthiest, happiest cells in your body. Bask in their life force. If you want, ask to go to the area of your body that would most benefit from your attention, and ask for help in giving those parts of yourself exactly what they need.
Spend as long as you like with your Wise Healer Within. You’ll know when it’s time to go.
Now feel yourself walking away from your Wise Healer Within, knowing that you can return whenever you wish. Feel your entire body walking away, the right side and the left side, walking away. Feel your arms and legs moving rhythmically, walking away, yet staying connected. Your feet pressing the ground, walking away. Let the rhythm of your walking gradually bring you back to full size and take you to the very place where you are right now. Open your eyes, stretch, and sit up, feeling energized and at ease.
