Each Day is an Invitation

Invitation, DayIt seems like every day I hear about something new I’d like to try or experience: a new class, a recipe, a place to visit.  And yet sometimes the options become too overwhelming and instead I stay stuck in my same old routines, missing out on all the infinite possibilities that could shift my perspective and open my world.  How can we know what the right thing to choose is?  What if we don’t like it or we aren’t good at it?  What if it doesn’t meet our expectations?  Here is my answer:

“You never know until you try”

It is never too late to start again, to invite in your most vibrant self and realize who you are meant to be. I believe that each day is an invitation to move towards your best self. Simply ask,

How vibrant and healthalicious do you want to be? Do you dream of being?

Invitation to Seek Knowledge

When I was diagnosed in 2008 with Stage IV Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, I have to admit I was afraid.  I had beat this disease once before in 2002 and thought I was free of it, but my body had other ideas.  My oncologist told me conventional treatment was my only hope, but I heard a voice in my heart telling me there was another way.  I chose to listen and became relentless in my desire to seek the knowledge that would save my life, the knowledge that I share with you now.

I was a woman with a mission, a mission to gain an understanding of my body and health through a different lens than what I had seen through up until now.  I didn’t realize how much I didn’t know about the body’s ability to heal itself given the right tools.  Here was my bottom line:

The foundation of health all comes down to a well-functioning immune system and healthy cells.

Everything else our bodies experience stems from these basic building blocks.  They are the roots of our well-being, the sources of our physical vigor, and must be treated with the upmost respect and care.  Our bodies have an innate desire to heal and function at optimum capacity. We often get in the way by not giving them the correct fuel and attention they are crying out for.  In a world riddled with ill health and toxins, it takes constant awareness and conscious effort to be healthy.  Every day I ask myself, “how can I get more oxygen and alkalinity into my body and cells to make my systems function at their best?”  By making this new knowledge the intention and basis of my day, I am setting myself up for success with each choice I make.

While you may not be facing a serious health crisis like I was, I invite you to examine an area of your life where new material can make an impact. How can you expand and open yourself up to the amazing variety of joys and experiences the universe has to offer?  I encourage you to accept the invitation to seek knowledge.

Invitation to Make Room

There is only so much space each person has in their lives, both in their physical world and in their mental and emotional worlds.  Often our lives become overly cluttered with material items and psychological stressors, making it difficult for something new to find its way in and help us grow.  I have found there is a profound connection between de-cluttering my physical space and clearing out my mental space.

When I take initiative, and do something as simple as cleaning out my closet and donating clothes I don’t wear anymore, suddenly my whole being feels lighter.  I have more energy to give to the people I love and the things I truly care about.  Plus, I have literally made more room in my home to bring in new items that will be of use to me and recycled items that no longer serve me.  This simple process can be applied in so many areas of our daily lives, cleaning out our cars, desks, offices, even just purging your bathroom drawer of old toiletries you no longer use.

Right now, I am focused on reorganizing my office to make space for creating another health and wellness program.  Every time I rid myself of something I no longer need, almost simultaneously a new idea pops into my mind.  This is the magic of making room.  Whatever it is you feel inspired to clear out in your life, embrace the process and create space for a fresh perspective.  I encourage you to accept the invitation to make room.
