Feng Shui and the Art of Healing Your Home….
By Valerie Ann
Our homes and the energies that exist within have a tremendous and definite affect on our overall health and well being. Our home and its condition, both structurally and aesthetically mirrors who we are in our everyday outside world. It mirrors how and what we think. It mirrors whether or not we are happy, sad, depressed, healthy or ill. Our current life situations are directly governed by the energetic patterns that flow and ebb their way through our environment. As a Feng Shui Consultant and Practitioner there are many variables within a structure that must be assessed in
order to bring about a healthy and balanced energy for a thriving existence.
First we look at the position of the home relative to plot of land on which it sits. Is the home positioned on top of a hill? This may represent money struggling to come in and flowing out too fast. Is it positioned too close to the street? This position may represent many lost opportunities. Is it set too far back, perhaps with a long, dark and narrow driveway to the entrance? This may represent money coming in too slowly and not being able to keep up with financial obligations. Also, we must assess the health and the energy of the earth in which our home sits. Is it healthy land with rich and fertile soil that nurtures healthy vibrant trees, flowers and grass? Do we see a variety of different song birds and butterflies, or does it lack healthy earth? Is it void of healthy, living plants and trees? Does it attract unfavorable birds and animals? These outside conditions and how our home is positioned is one of the many variables in Feng Shui that govern the condition of our finances. Again, as a Feng Shui consultant, once these conditions are determined we can then begin to apply the Feng Shui tools and cures that will enhance our existence.
Another important assessment is to look at what surrounds our home. What are the buildings or structures? What are their shapes? What are the neighbors like? Are we underneath or nearby any High Voltage Wires? Are there funeral parlors, cemeteries or churches within our view? High voltage Wires are extremely dangerous and we should not reside within 1 mile of them. The electrical currents that surround these transformers are so strong that over a short period of time living to close to these conditions, can quite literally wreak havoc on our nervous system. This may cause bouts of paranoia, neurosis and in some cases severe nervous breakdowns. Other structures such as churches, funeral parlors and cemeteries hold very sad energy vibrations. Prolonged exposure to these energy fields can cause severe depression, lack of motivation, sadness and unexplained bouts of anger. Some homes that are in direct line of these structures and energies will suffer external deterioration as well.
Now we must look at the home and its architectural design. Is it a new structure or is it an older structure? If it is an older structure chances are it has had at least one other family that took residence. Predecessor Chi’ / energy must be determined in order to get a sense of the vibrational energies and patterns that existed in the home prior to any new occupants. Was there anger or violence? Was there a divorce that forced the residents to leave? On the flip side, we may find out that the previous owner or owners were happy and quite prosperous and perhaps moved on to bigger and better things. Houses hold energies for a very, very long time and no matter what transpired for good or ill it was most certainly a direct result of the conditions in and around the home. Once this has been determined and addressed we can then look at the structure of the home.
We must make sure that all doors, windows fixtures and electrical systems are carefully inspected to make sure that none are in disrepair. Make sure to fix any broken doors, this is especially important, as in Feng Shui the Entrance is considered the mouth of the Chi’, this is where the life force is brought into our homes, if these areas are blocked or congested it will very easily and quickly deplete the occupants. We must make sure that there are no leaks of any kind. Our bodies are made up of mostly water and will resonate to water conditions within the home. If leaks persist our bodies will symbolically drain of energy. We may become emotional, crying all the time. We may also be prone to inner ear infections and sinus infections to name but a few. Also, in Feng Shui water represents money and finances. A Leak of any kind denotes money draining away. Another very important aspect of the home is the electrical systems. Bad electrical outlets and systems are not only dangerous but will most definitely lead to irrational behavior, short fuse/ temper, depression as well as anxiety attacks and emotional turmoil. These conditions will come about quite quickly in people who are pre disposed to these conditions, or for people who have suffered past traumatic experiences. Once we address all the structural conditions we now have to move through the home as the energy does.
We assess this by looking at where all the doorways and windows are located. Are there long, narrow, dark halls? Where are the stairs relative to the main entrance? Are there any spiral staircases? These structural designs to name but a few might be the reason for your ulcers. They might be the reason you are suffering from insomnia. They might be the reason that your child has become hyper-active. They might be the reason that your marriage has begun to deteriorate. They might be the reason why you lost your job. This again, is to name but a few life circumstances that are directly related to your home.
Last but certainly not least, we must make sure that our homes are free from clutter. Picture your home as the human body, all the hallways, entrance ways and foyers are the arteries and veins that bring you the Vital Life Force. If we keep these areas free from clutter we can then keep our life free from a host of problems, illnesses and unfortunate circumstances. Heal your home and you will certainly heal your life.
