3 Simple No Cost Tips for Looking and Sounding Great!

3 Simple No Cost Tips for Looking and Sounding Great! By Kathleen Gubitosi | #AspireMag

If you’re anything like me you want to look great, feel great, sound great, and do it as easily and efficiently as possible. I get it! You’re a busy entrepreneur. A feminine leader on a mission. You have limited time and run a household on a budget. So do I.

One thing that has always amazed me is that in a world of expensive creams, lotions and tonics the simplest, safest (for most), and least expensive options get little press. As a survivor of chronic illness with multiple food allergies and sensitivities, I have had to take a different path in terms of health and beauty most of my adult life. Over the years, I’ve found a variety of wonderfully inexpensive and effective options that meet my needs for quality ingredients and ease of use while suiting my busy lifestyle.

These are my Top 3 No Cost Tips for Looking and Sounding Great!

#1 Sing! – Being a voice coach, I can tell you that singing keeps me looking great. Singing raises your vibration, activates the throat chakra, oxygenates the blood, gets the heart beating, brings joy, and doesn’t cost a dime! You don’t need to worry about space or special equipment. It can be done anywhere, any time, in any outfit, and even if you have limited mobility due to injury or other health conditions.

Singing acts as a virtual facelift! What you may not know, is singing uses over 100 muscles in the face and neck! It keeps the face and neck toned giving the same effect as a facelift but without the risks, cost or recovery time. Given the choice, I’d pick singing any day!

Another interesting side benefit I’ve observed is, the more you use your voice for pleasure to more often you begin to speak your truth in other situations.

#2 Drink Water! – Yes, I know you’ve heard this before. I’ve been hearing it all my life. It’s obvious, but still many of us don’t do it. The work day goes by and before we know it, it’s 5pm and we’ve only had one glass of life giving water all day!

Instead, we drink coffee, tea or soda at work, and alcohol after work, all of which dry out our skin and our voice making us look and sound less than our best.

Here’s a visual that may help you in your quest to increase your water intake.

Think of water as a shower for your insides. Imagine every sip cleansing your internal organs of environmental toxins leaving your body refreshed. Tune into your body and allow your inside to feel as wonderfully clean as your outside does when leaving the bath.

Best of all, most offices have free water and non-sparkling water is generally free in many restaurants.

#3 Pure Olive Oil Soap – No, you won’t smell like a salad!

You might be surprised to know that being allergic to tree nuts and having gluten sensitivity can effect the types of beauty products you use. I began using pure olive oil soap eight years ago shortly after I was diagnosed.

I had been searching and reading labels for months to no avail. Then one day, I was at a local May Day Festival doing tarot readings when I noticed there was a soap-making booth. I explained to the soapmaker my quandary. She advised me to try pure olive oil soap. Unfortunately, she was out of stock, so I was on my own to find some. What a difference it made! My skin became soft and supple again and the rash and breakouts I had been plagued with disappeared. Nowadays, it’s much easier to find pure olive oil soap, several local supermarkets and pharmacy/convenience stores in my area carry it as do major online shopping outlets. It’s inexpensive and also great for your hair.

Bonus Tip: You can also make your own body scrub with household ingredients that will stand up to any commercially made products. Personally, I use olive oil, just because I have it in the house all the time, but you can use avocado oil, or jojoba oil, which is hypoallergenic and has no hormonal impact.

Mix the oil with some coarse sea salt and some sugar. Leave it unscented if you have allergies or are trying to minimize endocrine disruption. If this is not an area of concern for you, go ahead and add in few drops of your favorite essential oil or perfume. A little goes a long way, I store my homemade allergy-safe scrub in a glass jar in the bathroom. I get the best results when I put it on dry in the shower and then rinse off after a minute or two. My skin is smooth and silky and no, I don’t smell like a salad!

Here’s to your health and looking and sounding great!
